Gingerbread Bridge Challenge
In the recent 2nd annual Gingerbread Bridge Challenge for A-level Physics students, teams of three were challenged to design, bake, build, and decorate a bridge made purely of gingerbread.
The teams were judged on the taste of their gingerbread, the design/decoration, and most importantly how much mass it could hold before breaking. The bridge also had to span a gap of 20cm.
Despite all teams, by coincidence, using the same recipe, there was a clear winner based on taste. Tom, Albert, and Lenny having the best tasting bridge.
The winning teams bridge managed to hold an impressive 10.5kg, with fourth place still holding over 1kg before breaking. This year’s winning team were Kara, Maddy, and Isobel.
