    Staff are invited to nominate students who have demonstrated a Growth Mindset in the past few weeks. This might have been in lessons, in clubs, in tutor time or simply around school. Please note we already award bi-annual subject badges and merits for good academic work, effort and improvement. These Growth Mindset nominations recognise those who show resilience (academic or otherwise); who aren’t afraid to get things wrong and learn from it; those who have a go, take themselves out of their comfort zone or show that even if a task is tough they will persevere.

  • Ex-students invited to Buckingham Palace

    On Monday 16 May 2022 several Robert Carre Trust ex-students arrived at Buckingham Palace gardens to celebrate achieving their Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.  They were greeted by RAF Air Cadets. International adventurers and explorers, business leaders and entrepreneurs spoke including TV Explorer Ben Fogle, TV Apprentice’s Tim Campbell and DofE alumna Actress Nina Wadia and there were games and activities in the garden for all to enjoy.

  • Library News - Returning of Textbooks

    As our Year 11 and 13 students make final preparations for their exams, it is important that they remember to return all their borrowed textbooks and library books by the time of their final exam, or sooner if they are no longer required.

    • All students have received an individual email reminder of their loans
    • During exam season there will be clearly labelled boxes in the foyer where books can be deposited
    • Books can also be returned to the library in person - Year 13 students who have paid a deposit will need to dothis to secure their refund.

    The Junior Mathematical Challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at students across the UK. It encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems on the Junior Mathematical Challenge are designed to make students think. Most are accessible, yet still challenge those with more experience.
