Congratulations to both our Intermediate and Senior teams who took part in the national Rotary Club Youth Speaks debate competitions last week, pictured are our Year 9 Intermediate team Hannah May, Emily and Tilly.
We were delighted to welcome over 50 senior citizens to our Interact KSHS Christmas Lunch.
Students across all key stages were given the opportunity to create a Christmas card. The card could be made using any media and the winning entry, if chosen would be printed and sent out to friends of the school.
Staff are invited to nominate students who have demonstrated a Growth Mindset in the past few weeks. This might have been in lessons, in clubs, in tutor time or simply around school. Please note we already award bi-annual subject badges and merits for good academic work, effort and improvement. These Growth Mindset nominations recognise those who show resilience (academic or otherwise); who aren’t afraid to get things wrong and learn from it; those who have a go, take themselves out of their comfort zone or show that even if a task is tough they will persevere.
A further tranche of home testing kits has now arrived and will be given to students this week by their tutors. We advise students to read the instructions carefully.
PwC’s Flying Start degree programmes are open for applications, with opportunities to study for Accounting, Business Management and Technology related degrees at a range of top universities across the UK.
Cross Country Success
Well done to everybody who took part in the Kesteven Schools Cross Country Competition at Belton House Estate. Every athlete in the team should be proud of their achievement and in representing the school at a sports event - particularly those students who were representing for the first time.
For our library book collection to remain well stocked we rely on all students to borrow and return their books responsibly. To help with this we are introducing a new automated email system to help students manage their library loans.
Year 7 students have used tie dye, block printing and the laser cutter to make stencils to print an organiser inspired by a different culture.
Students had the opportunity to discuss artworks at The National Gallery and visit the fantastic exhibition at The Tate Modern.
The French and German departments subscribe to various apps/platforms that your child can access from home anytime to help them improve their language skills.
