Dear Parent/Carer
Thanks to all parents and carers for their support as we have seen rising cases of students who are Covid positive in school. As ever students have been really cooperative about the measures and we are hopeful that next week will start to see a fall in numbers of students off school. Covid continues to cast a shadow over planning but we hope that yesterday’s vaccinations which over half our students aged 12-15 accessed, along with our enhanced safety measures will see a steady reduction in disruption to learning. One of the side effects of the disruption is that our staff are once again juggling the demands of teaching the majority of the group face to face whilst catering for those students who are well enough to work from home. We continue to offer either a live lesson when it is appropriate, or work set on Teams by 6pm that evening. Many of you who are also teachers know that this takes significant time for staff to prepare, deliver and review so please do bear with our busy staff who are really doing their very best to support every student. If you have significant concerns about a particular subject do contact the Subject Leader or if you have queries relating to a range of subjects, the Head of Year. We are also working hard to ensure next week’s Sixth Form Open evening goes ahead as safely as possible for students in Year 11 and their parents/carers but also have virtual content available to share with those next Thursday, who can’t make it.
